Caroline AbensourParisHead of Sales & Investor Relations
Before joining CAPZA, Caroline was Managing Director at Chenavari in London where she was in charge of business development in the Nordic countries, the UK, Switzerland and Germany. Prior to that, she spent over 10 years in various sales management positions at Oakley Capital Ltd, Dresdner Kleinwort and BNP Paribas. Caroline is a graduate of HEC Paris.

Jorge worked at 3i Group and Optima Corporate (M&A boutique) before joining CAPZA in july 2017. Jorge holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE Business School.

Dr. Stefan ArnethMunichHead of DACH Sales
Before joining CAPZA, Stefan Arneth has spent most of his career as Head of Institutional Clients, successfully developing third-party business for MEAG, the asset manager of Munich Re and ERGO. He holds a degree in business administration and a doctorate in finance from University Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is also a CFA Charter-holder.

After a first experience at CACIB in Structured Financing and at Ardian in Private Debt, Axel joined CAPZA in January 2018. He graduated from HEI Lille and holds a Master in Financial Technics from ESSEC.

Oumaïma started her career at KPMG in 2015 where she worked as a Financial Auditor specialized in funds and management companies auditing. She then worked as a financial controller at Bluester Capital (formerly Parvilla) before joining CAPZA in 2020. Oumaïma holds a Master degree in Auditing and financial controlling from IESEG School Management.

From 2001 to 2004, Laurent worked as an analyst in the LBO Department of Bank of Scotland in Paris. He joined CAPZA in 2004 and became Partner in 2011. Laurent holds an MA in Finance from the University of Edinburgh and a DESS 225 in Finance from the University of Paris IX-Dauphine.

Fabien began his career in 2004, in the Structured Finance team at Crédit Lyonnais. He worked for TCR Capital as an accounts officer from 2008 to 2012. He then went on to become Investments Manager until 2014, before being appointed as Managing Partner . He joined CAPZA in December 2017. Fabien is an alumnus of the Grenoble Institute of Technology and of EM Lyon Business School.

Bruno began his career in the Private Equity as an analyst for the investment fund Perfectis before joining CAPZA in late 2009.
Bruno graduated from Ecole Centrale Lyon – School of Engineering in 2006. After working as a consultant for Altran for two years, Bruno resumed his studies and obtained a specialised Master’s Degree in International Finance at HEC School of Management in 2009.

Valentine began her career in Equity Sales at Oddo Securities. In 2012, she joined the Asset Management Department of the French “Autorité des Marchés Financiers”, first as an analyst and then as portfolio manager, before joining CAPZA in September 2017. Valentine holds a Master 1 in Finance from the Université Paris-Dauphine and a Master 2 in Currency, Banking and Finance from the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne.

CAPZA Growth TechJean-Luc joined CAPZA in 2020, as the company merged with Time for Growth, an investment company specialized in Growth Tech that Jean-Luc Co-founded in 2009. At Time for Growth, Jean-Luc invested in 12 European Growth Tech companies in France, Germany and Sweden. Before, Jean-Luc worked at Arthur D Little as Partner in charge of the TMT department, where he worked for many major players across Europe in the fields of TMT as well as for investment funds and banks. Jean-Luc teaches at ParisTech and Paris la Sorbonne. He is a graduate of ENSTA ParisTech and also co-founded a digital entrepreneur club in Paris region, “Meudon Valley”.

Prior to founding Time for Growth, Henri occupied several senior executive positions, including Managing Director of Saatchi & Saatchi, CEO of Sony Music France, Vice President Europe of Sony Software and Managing Director of Club Méditerranée. Henri also co-founded the “Actuel” newspaper and the radio stations “Chérie FM” and “Radio Nova”, and was Vice-President at Arthur D. Little, where he worked for four years. Here he led strategic projects for telecom, media and internet groups. Henri is a graduate of HEC, Sciences Po and Harvard Business School.

CAPZA Growth TechMatthieu joined CAPZA in 2019. Matthieu has been working in the technology industry for the past 10 years and has 6 years of experience in private equity. Prior to joining CAPZA, Matthieu was a partner at Raise, where he participated in the launch of the investment vehicle Raise Ventures. He joined Raise in 2013 when the group was created. Previously, Matthieu held various positions in the new technologies industry, including at Microsoft. He participated in the creation of several tech companies and was a professor at Paris Dauphine University. Matthieu is a graduate of SUPINFO.

Jean-Marc began his professional career in 1998 as an Investment Manager at BNP Private Equity. In 2000, he joined Ardian Growth where he completed a number of investments in the information technology and electronic industries. Before joining Capzanine in 2017, Jean-Marc was a Managing Director at Ardian Private Debt in Paris and was in charge of the origination and structuring of unitranche and mezzanine investments in Europe.
Jean-Marc holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and a DESS in Finance (Aix-Marseille University).

Céline Gainet is a lawyer admitted to the Paris (since 2008) and California Bars (since 2011). A graduate of UCLA Law School (Master of Laws) and the Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Ph.D. in Finance, Master in Corporate and Tax Law, Master in Business Economics in partnership with HEC business school), she has practiced for 10 years in Tier 1 U.S. ranking law firms, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP (from 2011 to 2018) and Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP (from 2008 to 2010), where she specialized in M&A and corporate governance for listed and non-listed international firms.
Associate professor at Sorbonne University (since 2013), she is also the Founder and President of the UCLA Club of France (since 2012), organization that regroups the UCLA alumni living in France from all UCLA schools and departments (business school, law school, etc.).
She joined CAPZA in June 2018.

Hasnaa started her career at PwC, where she worked for 3 years as an Auditor specialized in private equity funds and management companies. She then joined Ardian in 2015 where she worked for 4 years as a Finance Officer, responsible for the financial and operational management of MidMarket funds.
Hasnaa joined CAPZA in 2019 as Head of Middle office Private Debt. She is a graduate of University Paris-Dauphine.

CAPZA Growth TechRaphaël joined CAPZA in 2020, as the company merged with Time For Growth, an investment company specialized in Growth Tech. He joined Time for Growth in 2015 and was promoted to Partner in 2019. Raphaël started his carrier at EY as an auditor in early 2009 before joining their Transaction Advisory Services team in early 2011, where he became manager in 2013. During his tenure at EY, he worked on a wide variety of deals, with a focus on M&A Transaction and Restructuring Advisory projects. His main clients were private equity firms and industrial corporates. Whilst at EY, Raphaël oversaw new recruitments in the TAS departments, along with the talent management follow-ups of analysts and associates. Raphaël graduated from EDHEC.

Christophe Karvelis SennParisExecutive Chairman & Founder
Christophe studied first in France (IEP Paris, 1984) then in the USA (MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, Chicago, 1988). He joined 3i France in 1987 and became a partner and a member of the Management Committee in 1992. In 1995, he took part in the creation of the EPF Partners fund, sponsored by the Natexis group. From 1998 to 2004, he was Managing Director of ABN AMRO CAPITAL France targeting LBOs valued at between €40 M and €700 M. In 2004, he founded CAPZA in partnership with David Hoppenot.

Artemid SASCédric began his career in 2001 in the Finance Department of the Caisse des Dépôts Group. In 2008, he became a Bâle II risk analyst in the Group Risk Department. He joined Assurances du Crédit Mutuel in 2010 as bond manager. In 2012, he became Head of Credit and Fixed Income Strategy and then developed the Private Debt business. In January 2017, he was appointed Head of Fixed Income Investments. Cédric has an engineering degree (Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Brest) and also holds a Master’s degree in Finance from ESCP Europe and the CFA.

José Tomás Moliner has developed his professional career in Investment Banking and Private Equity. In 1987, he joined BBVA and for 13 years he developed his career in Spain, United States and Latin America in the area of Investment Banking and Investor Relations. The last 9 years in BBVA, he was the Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions, being appointed head of BBVA Private Equity in 1999. In 2000, he founded and led Diana Capital, a medium size private equity firm. In 2004, he joined and refounded iNova Capital, a Technology Venture Capital firm. He works with CAPZA since 2015.

Steffen MüllerMunichSenior Associate
Prior to joining CAPZA in April 2018, Steffen worked as an Associate in the Leveraged Finance Group at UniCredit Bank in Munich and London, where he was involved in the origination & execution of LBO transactions. During his time in Investment Banking, Steffen closed numerous financing transactions in the German large and mid-cap space. He holds a M.Sc. in Strategic Management from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.

Before joining CAPZA in January 2020, Oliver Nell has most recently been working for a large European asset manager. Before this, he held Partner positions at Findos Investor and at Management Capital Holding, focusing on mid-market transactions in the DACH region. He started his Private Equity career at the Swedish buy-out house EQT. Oliver Nell holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Technische University of Kaiserslautern.

Bertram SchützMunichPrivate Debt Partner
Bertram started his career in 1995 as a Credit Officer for the French subsidiary of HVB/Vereinsbank Group. He continued his career with the Group in Munich and became Managing Director in 1998, in charge of managing the LBO portfolio. In particular, he created and managed a €10 billion portfolio (180 LBO transactions in Europe, the United States and Asia). From 2007 to 2017, Bertram was Managing Director of Avenue Capital Group, Responsible for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland regions and Portfolio Manager. During this time, he established a Private Debt strategy in Germany and invested €350m in financing German SMEs. He joined the CAPZA’s Germany subsidiary in September 2017

Artemid SASAnnie-Laure began her career at the Roullier group in 1992, where she held treasury responsibilities at the Timac subsidiary and then at the CFPR holding company. In 2001, she joined Calyon as Senior Banker and then as Head of Structured Finance and LBOs from 2007 to 2009. She was appointed Co-Head of the CACIB ETI LBO team in 2009 and headed the CACIB corporate structured finance and LBO team between 2011 and 2015. She joined Artemid in 2015. Annie-Laure holds a DESS in Corporate Finance from the University of Rennes.

Renaud TourmenteParisHead of Business Development
Renaud brings 20 years of relevant industry experience, recently at AXA IM where he co-led the global Loans & Private Debt platform and developed strong knowledge of alternative asset classes with a focus on illiquid strategies. Prior to this, he was at BNP Paribas and WestLB, mostly based in London, where he was head of the EMEA Corporate and Acquisition finance team and General Manager of WestLB France. He was also on the boards of the AXA IM Structured Finance platform and of the Loan Market Association in London. Renaud joined CAPZA in May 2019.

Yang began her career at CACEIS, depository bank of the Credit Agricole Group, in 2013. She started as a Data Administrator, then as a Fund Accountant, later after as a Middle Officer and Business Support of private equity funds. In 2018, she worked at Cathay Capital Private Equity as a middle officer of Midcap Funds. In November 2019, she joined CAPZA as a financial controller. Yang holds a Master’s degree in Finance and International Banking from NEOMA Business School.

Stefano ZavattaroMilanHead of Italian Office
After graduating in Economics in Rome and specializing in Finance at the London Business School, Stefano worked as a manager for General Electric where he participated in numerous M&A and private equity transactions within the GE Capital division. He was then chosen by the French investor Siparex to launch their Italian private equity activities before becoming head of the Private Equity division of the Crédit Agricole Group. Since 2014, Stefano has been advising international investment houses on their Italian and European projects. He joined CAPZA in 2021.

Artemid SASCyril began his career in the Coverage and then Strategic and Acquisition Financing departments of Société Générale. After an experience at Ardian Private Debt, he joined the investment bank Aforge Degroof Finance in 2011 where he was mainly involved in small & mid cap M&A transactions. He joined Artemid in 2014. Cyril holds a Master’s degree in Investment Banking and Markets from the University of Paris-Dauphine.

After a first experience in M&A at HSBC Paris and in Leveraged Finance at Credit Suisse in London, he joined the CAPZA team as an Associate in November 2018. Cédric is a graduate of HEC Paris.

Bertram SchützMunichPrivate Debt Partner
Bertram started his career in 1995 as a Credit Officer for the French subsidiary of HVB/Vereinsbank Group. He continued his career with the Group in Munich and became Managing Director in 1998, in charge of managing the LBO portfolio. In particular, he created and managed a €10 billion portfolio (180 LBO transactions in Europe, the United States and Asia). From 2007 to 2017, Bertram was Managing Director of Avenue Capital Group, Responsible for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland regions and Portfolio Manager. During this time, he established a Private Debt strategy in Germany and invested €350m in financing German SMEs. He joined the CAPZA’s Germany subsidiary in September 2017
